The bearers of kavadi, decorated by fancy peacock feathers is the main attraction of the festival.

Worshippers walking on the street.

Thousands of devotees made ardous climb against the masses at the 272 steps starway leading up to the temple cave to pray to the deity- Lord Murugan.

One way of doing penance, especially for children is to shave the head.

Some devotees pierced their tongues and cheeks with long skewers, hooks as a way of penance.

There were 600 stalls selling Indian traditional food and drinks along the street leading up to Batu Caves.

Kid in procession.

Devotees carry milk pots to overcome bad karma, some as penance for their sins, and others to honour a vow. Those fulfilling a vow have, in the past asked for help such as birth of a baby, healing the sickness of a loved one, helping them pull through hard times (Source: http://www.journeymalaysia.com/MCUL_thaipusam.htm)

Strolling on the path leading to the place we stayed, there were no cars no crowded noise, all it left was serenity.

I love the green quarter behind the long house we stayed.

I had fun playing with kids.

MNS Boh Centre

Max and Claris playing with the woods.

Dark blue upon light blue. Hanging around without purpose.

Sunrise taken from the room, hanging towels added fun to the photos.

Delicious pasta before we moved on. Slurrp slurrp.

The friendly sign that welcomed us.

On the way to Tanah Rata, morning glow shines the tea farm. We knew it's gonna be a good hike.

Age doesn't matter, perseverance counts.

Cool friends.

Shoes need rest too.

Resting time.

Drying up hair.

Kids playing with insects.

Joy.

Cute.
